This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • The CARE Consultant is the primary day to day service contact for all medical management and care related products for a large book of business
  • Must understand and manage customer expectations and service needs by building and maintaining positive relationships (both internal and external) and by delivering quality service; thereby enhancing UHC reputation in the industry
  • Manages ongoing customer relationships and service delivery to a large book of business of approximately 130 customers
  • Acts as outward - facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact (not call center) and large or complex accounts
  • Builds relationships with employer / group clients (not individual members) and serves as the primary point of contact for overall and day - to - day CARE (medical management) service issues
  • Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
  • Jobs in this function may work closely with sales on renewals and upselling, but incumbents do not have specific sales goal accountability or primary responsibility to close sales
  • Account management jobs focused primarily on relationship and service management to the customer base
  • Generally, work is self - directed and not prescribed
  • Works with less structured, more complex issues
  • Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with customers, providers, or in a healthcare setting
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with utilizing Microsoft Word (creating, editing, and saving documents), Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, and saving spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (creating rules and using calendar)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (Domestic)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional experience in insurance, healthcare administration, nursing, OR a related field such as wellness program
  • Experience with medical management products and data analytics
  • Experience with Aerial highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent presentation abilities, including proficiency in creating PowerPoint slides and effectively delivering presentations to various audiences
  • Preference for those residing in Wisconsin or Minnesota

Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Soft Skills:
  • Experience with creating presentations and presenting in front of groups
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethical behavior and compliance to applicable laws, regulations, and policies
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
