Head of Social Media Company: The Block Location: Global (Preference for candidates within Eastern Time ±1–2 hours) Employment Type: Not specified Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (Worldwide) Department: Editorial Job Description: About the role The Head of Social Media is a senior-level position that would involve overseeing The Block’s social media strategy and presence across platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, and others. The role would report to the Publisher and entail leading a team to enhance brand visibility, audience engagement, and traffic to editorial, research, and other content. What you'll do Developing and executing a comprehensive, platform-specific social media strategy aligned with The Block's overall business objectives. Leading a team of social media specialists to create, curate, and manage engaging content, such as text posts, graphics, videos, and reels, while ensuring consistent quality and brand messaging. Monitoring audience interactions, responding to comments, and fostering community engagement to build loyalty among readers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts. Planning and implementing social media campaigns, including budget management, ad creation, and optimization, to amplify reach and drive targeted traffic to The Block's website. Collaborating with editorial, multimedia, and sales teams to integrate social media efforts with content production, partnered content, and reputation management. Analyzing performance data to refine strategies, identify trends in the cryptocurrency space, and mitigate risks such as reputational issues associated with misguided social content. Staying abreast of platform algorithms, emerging trends, and best practices in social media for news and media organizations, particularly in fast-paced sectors.
