What to Expect The Tesla Operations Manufacturing Training Team is looking for a motivated and energetic Instructional Designer who wants to put their skills to use in accelerating the world’s transition to renewable energy. This role will support the Instructional Design Team and support the overall Operations Training Team. This is a hands on position where you will be expected to provide subject matter expertise in developing effective course content throughout all areas of the Manufacturing line to create innovative instructor led and online courses in an organized and effective manner. What You’ll Do Partner directly with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design and develop engaging, interactive, and error-free content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (online, webinar, instructor-led, Standard Guides, Web-based training, Visual Factory, Presentations) with clear strategies to achieve desired learning outcomes Support the Instructional Design Team within the overall Operations Training Team, including Manufacturing Training, Technical Maintenance Training, and Technical Quality Training teams Design, develop, and recommend innovative applications, layouts, interactive games, and creative systems that improve user experience and enhance learning across different audiences Maintain and revise existing learning products, keeping specific audience, learning modality, and other learning considerations in mind while always looking for the most efficient way to express the desired learning objectives Serve as project manager on simultaneous training development initiatives with the ability to stay within timelines and budgets while adjusting to changes in priorities or scope as needed Act as a liaison between technical and innovative groups to solve training gaps using methodical processes such as ADDIE, while staying current with Learning and Development trends and technologies Perform other duties as required to help establish training standards that can be used globally by different teams What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a technical field) with 7-10+ years of experience designing and developing training curriculum, plus work or educational experience with technical and/or engineering concepts; or equivalent experience Ability to provide an eLearning portfolio or demonstrate previous experience creating high-quality eLearning products, web-based training, technical writing, and standard guides Experience with design tools used in a learning creation environment (MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Techsmith Camtasia) and proficiency with MS Office products; experience with Learning Management Systems is a plus Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral formats, and communicate professionally with all levels of management Open collaborative style with ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction Ability to be unfazed by ambiguity and comfortable working in high-paced environments with shifting priorities while putting communications into a structured manner Curiosity to understand the strategic priorities for Tesla and how learning and development can best address skill and knowledge gaps in the workforce Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $80,000 – $120,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
