What will you do?

A day in the life of a Senior Accounting Analyst at VF looks a little like this.

The Senior Analyst, Accounting is a highly analytical role focused on driving process improvements, enhancing reporting efficiency and delivering accurate financial insights across multiple brands and channels within a publicly traded company. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate, consistent, and compliant lease reporting, supporting period-end close activities, and leveraging data-driven analysis to improve processes and strengthen financial reporting. The role also serves as a key business partner to teams across the organization, including Accounting, Lease Administration, and FP&A.

Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage and continuously improve processes while navigating complex business models, including wholesale, DTC, e-commerce, licensing, and intercompany transactions.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

Lease Accounting & Technical Ownership

  • Perform and review lease accounting activities, including recognition, modifications, terminations and related journal entries
  • Ensure lease accounting is compliant with US GAAP (ASC 842) and is consistent across various brands and entities
  • Analyze lease-related balances and ensure accurate reflection in financial statements and corporate reporting

Period‑End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Drive month‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of lease related components of the financial statements in alignment with corporate close timelines
  • Assist with the final review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables prior to submission
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams to support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Prepare and provide audit support documentation, including walkthroughs and testing support
  • Act as a primary accounting contact for internal and external audits and partner with appropriate teams to ensure completeness of supporting information
  • Identify control gaps or process inefficiencies and drive remediation and continuous improvement initiatives

Project Support & Testing

  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades and process improvement initiatives
  • Support testing efforts for accounting-related projects (e.g., system changes and new processes)
  • Validate outputs and ensure accounting accuracy following system or process changes
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance controls and reporting accuracy
  • Support process efficiency, data validation and financial insights utilizing data analytics tools or emerging technologies such as AI
