Role & Shift Details:  

  • Location :  10815 Quality Dr. Charlotte, NC 28278 

  • Role Type:  Summer Vacation Full Time, Temporary, Onsite

  • End Date 9/30/2026

  • Pay Rate:  $21.00 per hour (shift premiums also offered) 

  • Shift:   1st Shift - 5:30am - 1:30pm, 2nd Shift - 1:42pm - 10:42pm

  • Availability:  Ability to work up to 40 hours per week between Monday and Saturday; Saturday availability is required. 

The Role
Warehouse Team Members are hardworking and ambitious workers who are responsible for picking, packaging, staging, and shipping automotive parts from a General Motors warehouse.  Team members are also loading, unloading, stocking, and maintaining the warehouse inventory.

Responsibilities  

  • You prioritize safety and ensure that all work is done in a safe manner, contributing to a culture that values safety above all else 

  • You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can quickly adapt to changes in job duties as needed 

  • You take pride in doing high-quality work and can complete tasks within set timeframes 

  • You are skilled in using tools and machinery, including operating mobile equipment to move materials within the assembly plant. This equipment could operate at heights of up to 35 feet 

  • You are eager to learn new skills and contribute to a dynamic team environment 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • At least 18 years of age 

  • Eligible to work in the United States 

  • Ability to listen, read, follow work and safety instructions which are written in English 

  • Must be willing to work flexible shift hours which are subject to change based on business conditions, overtime hours on those shifts are common and may be available with little notice. Weekend and holiday shifts are regularly expected, but not continuously. 

  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors LLC. hiring process requirements which include drug testing and a background check. 

Preferred Qualifications   

  • Experience working in auto manufacturing 

  • Experience working in manufacturing or warehouse environment 

  • Experience identifying and reporting quality defects 

  • Experience operating mobile equipment or using specialized tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, torque guns, hoists, or industrial vehicles 

Physical Requirements:  

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.  

  • Ability to perceive and respond promptly to safety signals, alarms, and instructions, and follow established protocols.  

  • Stand for extended periods (up to 10+ hours per shift); occasional sitting during certain tasks.  

  • Comfortably wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, harnesses, electrical safety work practices (ESWP) gear, and clean room attire.  

  • Navigate a busy manufacturing environment safely.  

  • Perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and reaching.  

  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; operate tools and equipment safely.  

  • Operate mobile and elevated equipment (e.g., forklifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, scaffolding, ladders) as required.  

  • Demonstrate manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to read gauges and safety signals.  

  • Distinguish color-coded signage and systems.  

  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) and multiple welding currents.  

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, cold, dust, and elevated surfaces or heights.
