The US business is in an early growth phase with a small team based in New Jersey, operating in a dynamic and collaborative shared office environment. The organization utilizes a shared service model with finance operations supported by an established team in India, allowing the US Finance Controller to focus on strategic oversight, analysis, and business partnering.

Job Description

As US Finance Controller, you will take full ownership of finance operations for a growing US business within a well established global pharmaceutical organization. This is a highly visible role acting as the key finance partner to the US commercial team while maintaining strong alignment with global leadership based in India.

This position offers a unique opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial setup where you will operate as the standalone finance leader in the US, driving financial performance, governance, and strategic decision making in a high growth environment.

Reporting directly to the global finance leadership, the US Finance Controller will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing end to end finance operations for the US business
  • Acting as the key link between the US sales team and India based finance team
  • Delivering insightful data analysis to support commercial decision making
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis
  • Driving gross profit margin analysis and identifying performance gaps
  • Ensuring compliance with US GAAP, taxation, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating with global CFO and India finance team for consolidation and reporting
  • Reviewing accounting processes including AR, AP, and banking through shared services
  • Supporting pricing strategy, contract management, and invoicing activities
  • Enhancing internal controls and ensuring audit readiness
  • Explaining financial performance and profitability to senior leadership.

The Successful Applicant

In return for a compettiive remuneration package, the successful Controller will possess the following:

  • CPA qualification required
  • 6+ years of experience in finance and accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, taxation, and compliance
  • Experience operating in a standalone or senior individual contributor role
  • Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting sales teams
  • Experience working with global teams and shared service environments
  • Prior exposure to pharmaceutical or healthcare sector preferred with at least 3 years in pharma strongly desired
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a small, fast paced, and entrepreneurial environment
