Graphic Designer (Freelance | Ongoing Project Work)

B A S Media is looking for a talented freelance Graphic Designer to join our creative team on an ongoing, project-by-project basis.

We're looking for someone who can create high-quality, strategic design work for both print and digital communications. This role is ideal for a freelancer who enjoys agency work and wants project-based work, while maintaining the flexibility of working with other clients.

This is not a part-time position. It's project-based, and we're looking for someone who values creativity, communication, and accountability as much as great design.

What You'll Design

You'll work on a variety of projects, including:

Brand identity systems

Social media graphics (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)

Stories and Reels cover graphics

Carousel posts

Print advertisements

Brochures

Flyers

Presentation decks

Event collateral

Website graphics

Infographics

Campaign creative

Marketing collateral for public-sector and private-sector clients

Some projects you may be designing for a municipality. Other projects you may be designing for a luxury mixed-use development or a state organization. Every project is different.

What We're Looking For

Strong graphic design skills are non-negotiable.

You should have an eye for:

Layout and composition

Typography

Color theory

Branding

Visual storytelling

Creative problem solving

You should know how to make information both beautiful and easy to understand.

You should also understand how creative differs across platforms. Designing for Instagram isn't the same as designing for LinkedIn, and a printed brochure shouldn't look like a social media post.

Required Skills

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe InDesign

Canva Pro

Print production knowledge

Social media creative

Brand identity systems

Presentation design

Bonus points if you also have experience with:

Figma

Premiere Pro

After Effects

Basic motion graphics

Short-form video editing

Who Will Thrive Here

We're looking for someone who:

Follows creative briefs carefully

Brings thoughtful ideas, not just execution

Understands current design and social media trends

Can balance creativity with brand standards

Welcomes constructive feedback

Pays attention to details

Delivers polished work on time

Agency experience is a plus, but we're also open to talented designers who are building their portfolios if their work demonstrates strong creative ability.

Communication & Accountability

Responsiveness is a requirement, not a preference.

We communicate through:

Monday.com

WhatsApp

Email

Text

You'll report to our Creative Director and work within established creative systems and workflows.

If your availability changes, we expect you to communicate that early, because we understand freelancers balance multiple clients, but honesty about bandwidth is essential so we can plan accordingly.

Meeting deadlines, following our workflow, and communicating proactively are just as important as producing great creative.

Our Creative Philosophy

We use AI to improve efficiency, but not to replace creativity.

We're looking for a designer who thinks conceptually, understands strategy, and uses AI as a tool rather than a shortcut. We value original thinking, strong typography, intentional layouts, and designs that solve communication challenges.

Compensation

Ongoing project work

$30–$50/hour, based on experience and portfolio

We believe great design is strategic. Every piece should have a purpose, solve a communication challenge, and strengthen the client's brand.

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
